The best way to sit at you're computer

Picture
If you work at a computer, the keyboard should be in front of the screen
Adjust your seat to place the keyboard roughly at elbow height while allowing your feet to rest firmly on the floor.

Your forearms should be reasonably horizontal, and you should be looking slightly downward.

The seat should support your thighs, but the front edge should not dig into them. Adjust the backrest to support the small of your back. If your chair does not provide sufficient lumbar support, try placing one or two cushions behind the small of your back.

Looking down and sideways to copy from documents can lead to neck and back strain. Try using a copy holder to hold the documents beside the screen.

summary of communication process

Communication Process:The process of communication involves the combination of these very essential elements, components for the achievement of goals and proper activation. There are many factors which influence the communication process, all of which impact each other in a variety of ways. This model shows how the most important factors function in what would be a snapshot of a static instance of communication.
1-Sender:
It is the originator of the idea or message. It is the place or the person from where the message is communicated or sent. The source initiates the message by encoding it into symbols (words) and signs (facial expressions, tone of voice, etc). It may also be known as sender who may be an individual or a group. 2-Encoding: Encoding involves the selection of mode of communication. The encoder expresses his message through gestures, sounds, written words and signs. Encoding requires clarity of purpose and effective medium of expression. For example, a telegram differently worded from a letter. . 3-Message: The message is the actual physical product from which the source encodes. When we speak, the speech is the message. When we write, the writing is the message. When we gesture, the movement of our arms and the expression of our face are the message. 4-Channel: The channel is the medium through which the message travels. It is selected by the source how to use a formal channel. Formal channels are used to transmit messages that relate to personal activities of the people.

Internet

 What Is the Internet?
A network of networks, joining many government, university and private computers together and providing an infrastructure for the use of E-mail, bulletin boards, file archives, hypertext documents, databases and other computational resources
The vast collection of computer networks which form and act as a single huge network for transport of data and messages across distances which can be anywhere from the same office to anywhere in the world.
What is the Internet?
The largest network of networks in the world.
Uses TCP/IP protocols and packet switching.
Runs on any communications substrate.
Brief History of the Internet
1968 - DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contracts with BBN (Bolt, Beranek & Newman) to create ARPAnet
1970 - First five nodes:
UCLA
Stanford
UC Santa Barbara
U of Utah, and
BBN
1974 - TCP specification by Vint Cerf
1984 – On January 1, the Internet with its 1000 hosts converts en masse to using TCP/IP for its messaging.
